Know your competition better than they know themselves

Coming to the Mac App Store. App Store intelligence for developers and agencies.

The drawing: three competitors' 180 reviews, one strand of light each, ending in a ring. A search for sync lights 30 of them, 10 of each competitor's 60.

Your first app is free.

Add a competitor and up to 500 of its latest reviews per country arrive the same day, then every new one, daily. Type a word. ASOblick lists every review that mentions it. Its 1 and 2 star reviews tell you what its users want and do not get. Its 5 star reviews tell you what it already does well, and what your app has to do at least as well.

And the rest, on one Mac: what people search before you build, your ranks every day, your own reviews, your App Store screenshots, and what came after each update you ship.

The ASOblick window on the Competitors module with All Competitors selected and its reviews searched for sync: 30 of 180 reviews contain the word, 10 of 60 for each of Beaconfold Habits, Habitgrove and Streakwell, and the first one and two star reviews below, such as Lost my streak after an update
FIG. 01Three competitors' reviews, searched for one word: 30 of 180 contain “sync”.

Every picture on this page shows a demo app, Fernwick Habits, and competitors invented for it. The numbers are what ASOblick shows for them.

Competitive intelligence

FIG. 02, 03

Build what people are already asking for

Watch a competitor and its written reviews arrive every day, from every country you track. One table lists the words more common in its 1 and 2 star reviews than in its 4 and 5 star ones. One click shows the 5 star reviews alone, so you read both ends of the scale. Pick a word and read every review behind it. The same search runs over your own reviews.

The table Words more common in 1 and 2 star reviews for one competitor, with a column for its 1 and 2 star reviews and one for its 4 and 5 star reviews: widget in 15 of 25 and in 0 of 25; blank, crash, subscription and sync in 10 of 25 each and in 0 of 25; afterwards, answered and basics in 5 of 25 each and in 0 of 25. Click a word to search for it.
FIG. 02The words more common in one rival's 1 and 2 star reviews: widget in 15 of 25, and four more in 10 of 25 each.
FIG. 03The same rows drawn: one point for each review that holds the word, across 25 with 1 or 2 stars and 25 with 4 or 5 stars.

A new version with its release notes. A price change. New screenshots, a rewritten description. The daily check notices each one and writes it into your Log for you, beside the searches where that rival ranks above you.
